A long stream of events, decisions, actions,
thoughts, impressions, things we saw and heard,
etc., etc., has gone on before any event happens.
What if, I wish I wouldn’t have, if only I would
have, looking back I shouldn’t have, I didn’t
realize, if only I’d-known, nobody told me, I was
so young I didn’t understand, knowing what I
know now I would never have chosen that way.
Those are all thoughts in retrospect—hindsight
has 20-20 vision.
Nothing we think today has any bearing on
any previous event.
Things happen because we are where we are
at the time they happen.
Based on our background, education, up-
bringing, religious orientation, etc, we make
decisions and things happen----good or bad….
We leave somewhere 10 minutes early or late ,
we miss a turn off to a certain street, we have one
too many or decide not to have one at all, and
then the age thing,…..we are 14 and not 20, we
are 22 and not 42, we are 46 and not 66.
ALL OF THESE THINGS COME INTO PLAY AND
WE NEVER KNOW ANY MORE THAN WE KNOW
AT THAT TIME WHEN WE KNOW IT.
We only know what we know right now. I can’t
give anyone my "right now" and no one can give me
theirs.
The only thing we have with which to make a
decision is the sum of who we are at the time of the
decision. Couple that with the fact that we have no
knowledge of what’s around any corner of life.
THAT IS A SOBERING
THOUGHT!
In spite of that there are no accidents in our
lives. (this is not to say we don’t learn from the past,-
we should,- but that new knowledge just puts us in
another place,…we still don’t know what’s around
the corner.)
God is in control of all things at all times and no
decision that anyone makes can alter that fact about
God. It is when we try to limit God to our
understanding that we become confused.
Our tendency is to think that if "we" can’t figure it
out neither can He or if He loved us He wouldn’t
allow such and such an event…..Or we simply say,--
“that’s in Gods hands.”
What makes God God is His Power. He is the
most powerful or He wouldn’t be God.
Before the foundation of the earth Jesus was
slain. Gods Grace was in effect at creation!
NOTHING can interfere with His plan, and yet
He has created us with the capacity to learn and
think and choose.
Think of it!!! We have the capacity to respond to
the One who made us and Knew us in eternity
before time began! He knew our life from beginning
to end before time began!! He is on every corner of
life around which we cannot see……He said, “I AM
WITH YOU ALWAYS”…..there is no place we can
go---nothing we can do or say that will change
that----------There are no accidents in our lives
